Our History

Our congregation was planted by the Fellowship of Evangelical Baptists in Canada in November of 1979 and met in the Fort Elementary School before moving to the Public Library for Sunday meetings.  In 1985, we purchased an old newspaper office in which we still meet.  It is here that we gather to focus together on the central purpose for our existence ~ our Lord and Saviour, the King of Kings and Lord of Lords, Jesus Christ.  He is our treasure and joy and hope.  The writer of the New Testament letter to the Hebrews noted that “Long ago, at many times and in many ways, God spoke to our fathers by the prophets, but in these last days he has spoken to us by his Son, whom he appointed the heir of all things, through whom also he created the world.  He is the radiance of the glory of God and the exact imprint of his nature, and he upholds the universe by the word of his power.”  This is the King that we worship and the one for whom we long.  If you have never met Him we would be glad to introduce you to our Friend, the one who now brings meaning, and purpose and hope into our lives.
